Jan. 2005 Always Current Lineox Enterprise Linux 3.055 adds Update 4 compiled from source packages from ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/updates/enterprise/3AS/en/os/SRPMS (release notes are available at http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/enterprise/RHEL-3-Manual/release-notes/as-x86/RELEASE-NOTES-U4-x86-en.html (x86 architecture) and http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/enterprise/RHEL-3-Manual/release-notes/as-amd64/RELEASE-NOTES-U4-x86_64-en.html (AMD 64-bit x86_64 architecture)). Note that the changed package list in both release notes lists all packages. The correct list can be found in Changelog.txt on Always Current Lineox Enterprise Linux 3.055 CD #1 or DVD under heading Updated packages in Lineox Enterprise Linux 3.054. 3.054, released 23. Dec. 2004, had all the updated packages, but not rebuilt installation environment. In the version 3.055 the installation environment was rebuilt, so it offers better hardware support during the installation. The x86_64 release requires either AMD Opteron or Athlon64 CPU based computer and it will be released late next week after the office of Lineox has been moved to the beautiful Turku Archipelago. Some new Intel Xeon and Pentium IV processors that have EM64T (Extended Memory 64 Technology) will be also able to run this version.
